Listening People to Life - Sioux Falls Seminary

For thirty-nine years I’ve worked with college students and professors in direct ministry. I travel around the world taking part in mission opportunities and resourcing those who live and serve in international locales. I’ve experienced the complexities of being married to a ministry leader while juggling the demands of children and personal ministry.

My views on life in ministry took a different turn during a dark night of the soul season, where I questioned my calling, my faith, and even long held understandings of God. I remember crying out to God, “Lord, there has to be more to following You than what I am experiencing!”

By participating in TC14, I learned new ways to open my heart to the work of God’s Spirit, and experienced God tenderly leading me to deeper places with Him.

I received my training in Spiritual Direction through Listening People to Life, while at the same time earning a Master of Arts in Bible & Theology with an emphasis on Intercultural Studies.

I understand a spiritual director to be a fellow companion. One whose role is to walk alongside another through prayer, listening, asking questions, and trusting God.

If you find yourself longing for more, seeking God in the desert places, processing life changes and transitions, discerning next steps, or simply wanting to be more attuned to the voice of God, I offer you a sacred companion along your journey of life.
